Our trail maintainers are responsible for clearing, cleaning, and blazing a trail so that other people can use the trail and enjoy the natural areas we all care about. Unfortunately along many trails, native plants that benefit local wildlife have been replaced by invasive bushes and vines. To give current trail maintainers the best managment tools to take care of their trail sections we will be leading two sessions of a new class called "Invasives for Trail Maintainers". These half day classes will be held at New York-New Jersey Trail Conference Headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey on April 8th and April 29th. This course is only open to active trail maintainers and will include how to identify and manage some of our most common invasive plants as well as how to choose which plants to manage. No prior plant identification skills required. |
