This is a super easy section of the AT that's scenic and great for those with kids or mobility concerns. You can do the whole boardwalk, continue beyond it to Pinwheel Vista, or just do sections. It's a great beginner hike too and good for those who aren't sure how long their group will want to be out.

Hiked the boardwalk and the stairway this past weekend, and although absolutely exhausted by 5pm, I'd do it all again. The boardwalk was wonderfully maintained and the stairway blazes were easy to locate and follow.

Spotted Lantern Fly Alert! Hard to miss them in the wooded areas of the trail, just look for tree of heaven. Stomped as many as we could. Parked at the Stairway to Heaven trailhead on 94, most hikers were headed up and we had the trail to the bridge practically to ourselves. Beautiful wildflowers and butterflies. And cows. Moo!
